The Best Sci-Fi Video Games of All Time

There are many great Sci-Fi Video Games that have come out over the years. Some of the most notable ones are Chrono Trigger, Knights of the Old Republic, and Mass Effect. Others are much more obscure, but all are great in their own ways. Let’s look at some of them.
Mass Effect
Mass Effect is a sci-fi video game in which you are an elite human soldier and have access to a spaceship and a squad of elite fighters. The game’s graphics are amazingly realistic and make the characters look almost real. You also have the option of changing the story line to suit your preferences.
Chrono Trigger
Chrono Trigger is a sci-fi and fantasy JRPG that was created by Square, the same developer responsible for the Final Fantasy series. It was released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995 and received praise for its detailed graphics and storyline. The game follows the adventures of Crono, the protagonist of the game, as he travels through several different time periods.
Dead Space 2
Dead Space 2 is a thrilling sequel to the original game that takes its horror and action themes a step further. The game offers more weaponry, a more diverse setting, and more gory sequences. It also benefits from a superb narrative and excellent handling of the protagonist’s internal struggle. Whether you play the game for its action or gore, it will be a memorable experience.
Halo 2
The first Halo game was a hit with critics, but it had a limited audience. While the game sold five million copies, it didn’t generate the kind of blockbuster crowd that movies like Star Wars draw. Still, Microsoft and Bungie had ambitious plans for Halo 2. They expanded their creative team to include forward-thinking storytellers and artists. One of those was Xbox expat Elan Lee, who was instrumental in making the game as good as it was.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
While Deus Ex: Human Revolution is not a prequel to the original game, it does serve as a standalone game. In Human Revolution, you play as Adam Jensen, the head of security at Sarif Industries in Detroit. A former SWAT officer, Jensen was reprimanded for not shooting a minority in the previous game. Unlike its predecessor, however, the game allows you great leeway in how you approach various situations. For example, you can sneak up on your enemies or engage in combat based on your own preferences. There are also sublevels that you can explore.
Bioshock
Bioshock is a 2007 sci-fi video game from 2K Games. The game is set on a shipwreck that has been stranded in the middle of the sea. Players are able to float to shore where they find a lighthouse. But soon they realize that the place they’ve chosen to survive isn’t safe.
